A bit expensive. This set of Leadership cards is an interesting concept. Sometimes it’s difficult to come up with topics of conversation that sound natural and aren’t, “How about that weather?”
The deck has color-coded cards that you can choose randomly or intentionally if you sort through them in advance of a meeting.
A lot of the conversation starters would also work great as a journal prompt for personal journalling.
Having these prompts as a deck of cards is better than lists in a book. When I’m looking at a list in a book, I tend to pick the first or second item and pass over the other suggestions. In this format, you’re picking one card and that’s all you need to look at.
They’re fun to use and the questions are open-ended, exactly what you need for a proper conversation to happen.
With that said, is it worth $30? I think it’s a bit expensive.
Plays it Safe. The Good –
Does this team building deck off cards do anything different from other sets out there? Not really, no, but there are some minor differences that matter. I do like that each category is designed by their own color, allowing me to choose from a set that is appropriate for the setting I am in. The cards play it safe too, so there are no highly charged suggestions which could cause problems down the line.
The Bad –
The box the cards came in was pressed in on the corner, so the box itself is not sturdy at all. I may find a plastic box to put the cards in (and I think would make the cards that much more visually appealing).
Worth the Value? –
The team building cards are nothing new, having the cards broken up by type and making it easy to find cards from that type is what sets this deck apart. While the box was damaged, I still consider this set worth the value.
Great conversation starter for teams and meetings. I was pleasantly surprised by how thoughtful these cards are. The questions go beyond simple icebreakers and actually encourage meaningful conversation, reflection, and team connection. The deck is organized well, so you can easily choose lighter prompts for warm-ups or deeper questions for team discussions or one-on-one meetings.
The cards themselves feel sturdy and well made, and the color coding makes it easy to navigate depending on the type of conversation you want to have. I’ve found these especially useful for group settings where people may need a little help getting conversations started in a natural way.
Some prompts will work better than others depending on the group and setting, but that’s expected with a large deck and gives you plenty of variety to choose from.
Overall, a well-designed tool for managers, educators, or anyone looking to build stronger communication and engagement within a team.
A Great tool for Workplace Leadership. This conversation deck of cards is a really great way to potentially get people to open up at work and help facilitate openness in the workplace.
First off, the quality of the whole set, box and cards are very good quality! The cards themselves have a nice smooth matte finish and are very sturdy and not flimsy at all. The print is crisp and colorful.
There are 4 different categories of cards:
Icebreakers - These have fun questions that are meant to get to know people and their personalities. It leaves room for fun.
Deeper - These are meant to further explore people's personal experiences in a way that just helps you get to know them a little more.
Work - These cards help to dive into individual's work experiences
Teams - These questions help explore workplace culture.
I think these would be a great tool for anyone in Leadership, Management, or Human Resources. If you want to get to know your employees and coworkers and strive improve workplace culture, this is a good game to begin great conversations.
Truly helpful without being cringey. I’m always a little skeptical of team-building tools, but these cards turned out to be genuinely useful. The four categories make it easy to pick questions based on the vibe you’re going for, whether you want something light to get people talking or something deeper that leads to real conversations.
The day after getting these I used them in team meetings and one on ones, and they helped break the ice without things feeling awkward or forced. Some of the questions naturally open the door to better communication and understanding, especially with teams that have been under stress or going through changes.
The cards are well made, easy to read, and simple to work into a meeting without much planning. You can pull one out and go, which I really appreciate as a manager.
Overall, this is a solid, no-pressure way to get people talking and build better connections at work. Definitely worth the money if you want something practical instead of cheesy team-building activities. I highly recommend!
Move Beyond Groups to Become a Team. First off, I know I could probably find similar things using AI and Google. But I love having a deck of cards, something tactile to use.
The cards are broken up into categories: ice breakers; deeper connections; work connections; and team talk. The questions are really varied and open ended. After any question you can follow up with “why” or “tell me more” to get a more full answer and give the person more time and space to talk.
I love moving past small talk and connecting with our teams. We just pop the box of cards into the middle of the table and each staff meeting someone takes a turn choosing a card and then we all go around the room and answer it. It has definitely increased our feeling of closeness and engagement. I love that we can learn more about each other and learn to bring our whole selves to work. It’s so important!
Great deck of cards. So glad I got them! I’ve included some pics of the cards just to give you an idea of the questions.
Great idea, works for team environment, recommend!. My husband is a general manager for a cake infrastructure company and immediate took these to work. Before he came on the scene these folks were managed by profit and treated like numbers. Since he came on the scene everyone is so much more relaxed, less anxious and happier. And guess what? That has lead to higher profit.
I also got him a prize wheel for safety because he is a huge safety guy. Anyway he knew these cards would help create an even better work environment for his team (~70 folks.)
He said "these worked great this morning with the team." The functionality of the cards is therefore fantastic. The cards have a thin laminate like a deck of cards so they are well made. They're a bit bigger than I expected. This is a great idea, quality product and a great value.
If you're considering this item I would recommend getting it.
Incredibly Insightful & Practical Tool for Teams!. The Team Conversation Cards are a fantastic resource for leaders, managers, HR professionals, and facilitators who want to foster meaningful dialogue within teams. These aren’t your typical icebreaker cards — the 160 prompts are thoughtfully curated to help surface real issues that teams often avoid, making conversations more honest, productive, and impactful.
Whether you’re leading a workshop, facilitating a team meeting, or working on culture-building, these cards encourage deeper reflection and uncover insights that might otherwise go unspoken. They make great connection questions even outside of work. They’re mostly work-safe, respectful, and versatile enough to use in a variety of settings. I plan to use them at home and at my place of business. I noticed right away that the first card asks “what is the most ridiculous thing you believed as a child.” In my HR experience, these questions could lead to some very controversial answers. So, just know that nothing is ever 100% fool proof.
What I love most is how they have the potential to help build trust and engagement — without awkwardness or cliché questions. The outcome really depends on the organizers ability to navigate the answers and dig deeper. If you care about real connection, effective communication, and stronger teamwork, this set is a must-have! 💬🤝✨
Excellent!. Excellent team building cards! There are four different categories: icebreakers, work, teams, and deeper. The work and teams cards are specific to work. The icebreaker and deeper can be used with work, friends, family, etc. I'm excited to use these with my team members. They are very thought provoking and it will help to learn about others in a fun way. Thank you!!
Physical card advantage.. Our team runs a number of trainings in both virtual and in‑person settings. Every session needs some kind of icebreaker so people are engaged and not just watching another talking‑head presentation. Because we do so many sessions, we need fresh content to keep it interesting.
This set has been useful for keeping things fresh. The four categories give us a good mix of light, reflective, work focused, and team focused prompts. It is easy to pick a card that fits the tone of the meeting, and the questions get people talking right away.
The real value is the format. The cards are always ready with no prep, no searching, no formatting and they look professional. That are good quality printed cards. They are portable for in‑person sessions and simple to use in virtual ones. The categories make it easy to match the question to the moment. The cards hold up well and can be used again and again. They are also facilitator friendly. You can hand a card to someone else and let them lead the warmup.
This set saves time, keeps engagement high, and gives us reliable material we can use across many sessions.
Good thought provoking questions in this set. About the only thing I don't like about this item is the price.
But if you are looking for a good way to get your team communicating the price point is worth it.
The four different card categories are really separated into two groups: work related and non-work (more personal) related. And while there are some typical ice breaker type questions in each group, there's a lot of uniqueness, to keep your team engaged. The Ice Breaker/Deeper cards have a good mx of getting a person to reflect on their background as well as their life's philosophies, but in a very thoughtful way.
I think the real benefit is the work and team cards. I've been with several teams in which our leaders had us take personality tests and we shared the results. The problem has been what to do with that information. And it never benefits the team. The questions on the work/teams cards in this set help a team discover individual personalities and team personalities, as thoughtful questions make you really think about your team and work and understand how to improve the team dynamic with the individual answers.
If you are a leader looking for fresh questions, get this set and incorporate it into your team meetings.
Practice opens conversation and creativity. As a leader has your workplace become stagnant? Are tream members behaving distant to one another. Are certain members afraid to speak up? While other members drive the group as a know-it-all. Do you wish for more fluid conversation? More freedom and a comfortable place to speak out and create. Let this deck of 160 conversational cards become a regular habit in your group meetings. If you establish these conversation cards as part of a procedural activity it becomes natural, it does not feel like berating a team. It will feel like a team coming together. Practice makes perfect
Great Tool for Team Meetings. As a leader who hosts a weekly team meeting, this has been a great resource, helping to increase engagement. The transition from light icebreakers to deeper strategic questions makes it easy to gauge the room and build trust amongst our team.
Helpful Tool for Team Conversations. These cards are a good resource for managers looking to build stronger connections and improve team communication. The variety of categories is helpful, ranging from light icebreakers to more thoughtful, strategic questions, so you can use them in different settings like meetings, one-on-ones, or offsites. The prompts are easy to use. Good to guide more meaningful conversations without much prep. Overall, a useful and practical tool for teams.
Great variety!. I really like this set of cards. I use them for a different purpose than what they were made for kind of. We have a wall at work where people can post pictures from trips, job "wins", etc. We also email out a list of 3 questions monthly that employees can answer and post if they want to. Just fun things to get to know each other better. We have been doing this for years, and it's getting hard to find new questions to post. These cards have given me a lot of new options and employees have really been liking the variety. The cards themselves care good quality, nice and thick - won't tear easily at all. Definitely a great value-add for us!
Excellent!. I really like these cue cards for leaders. There is a popular brand always being advertised to me on social media, so when I saw these at a fraction of the price, I had to know if they were the same quality. They have various subjects, hold perfectly in the box and are easy to use for ice breakers, discussion, team building, etc. I highly recommend for all levels of leaders!
Get to Know Your Team. This seems like a genuinely useful team-building tool, especially for managers who want something more structured than awkward icebreakers but less heavy than a formal workshop. I like that the deck appears to include different categories, ranging from lighter conversation starters to more thoughtful prompts about team dynamics and ways of working. That makes it feel flexible enough for team meetings, one-on-ones, offsites, or even just getting a quieter group talking. It also helps that the prompts are designed to be work-safe, which is important for something like this.
I’d give it four stars because tools like this are only as good as the group and the person facilitating them. If the team culture is stiff or people aren’t open to participating, even well-written cards can feel a little forced. Also, if someone is already very experienced with facilitation, parts of the deck might feel familiar rather than groundbreaking. Still, as a ready-to-use conversation tool that can help teams connect and reflect a bit more intentionally, it sounds like a strong product.
Simple but fun for team building.. These cards are pretty simple and easy to use. They offer a wide variety of different topics that help you get to know each other and work on team building. The cards are decent quality with a laminate like feel. The whole box is small and compact making it easy to store. It's a nice set to have if you're looking at making your team stronger.
High Quality Card Deck with Good Questions for Teams. These team-building cards are really nice. They have good questions in different categories that can really help build rapport. There are ice breaker type questions, work style questions that help others learn how best to work with you, and many others. They also come with links to additional resources on their website to help you understand yourself and help your team better understand themselves. They are all work-safe of course, and while mostly serious, there are some amusing questions mixed in there too. So it's not un-fun.
while I might not formally use these as a deck with my current team (not sure my team would be into the structure of a card deck) I will absolutely use the questions and structure to inform how I work with my team and what kind of questions I could ask them.
These are SFW! Less work for me!. As a corporate trainer, who hopes to be a people leader soon, I really appreciate these cards for being a safe for work tool! It’s so hard to predict the people you will meet in a corporate team setting, and anything can offend, or be misinterpreted by anyone. These are previously reviewed, and so you can confidently share these with your team in a work setting, without fear or being misread, as easily as you can be if you come up with your own, unsupported questions, or are relying on a faulty deck.
Excellent thought provoking questions. Great for teams!. I got these on a whim because I was planning some ice breaker activities for my co-workers and a group of students. Sometimes these types of things can be hit or miss. These were a hit!! The questions were age appropriate for older students and adults. They were thought provoking, which was exactly what I was hoping for. There are different categories of questions, so it mixes things up a bit. Some are more geared to the work environment, so not all relatable to students or classroom, but I could still find many. I asked probably about 6 questions in 15 minutes in my class and the students were super engaged and it sparked great conversation. I will use these cards for years to come. There is something so great about a tangible card that I can pass out or physically use, rather than just going to the internet. I totally recommend these in both a learning or work setting. So fun!
They're Decent. Better if You're Just Getting Started.. I want to start by acknowledging that I think I'm fairly spoiled - I have more than a few decks that are truly amazing, and because of that, these were just okay for me. That's my starting point. They were nicely designed, with good categories, and I might use a couple of the ice breaker ones, however, there's nothing stand out here.
It's a lot more common sense, and easy-to-search for, and even easier to ask your resident AI, which is a bummer, because it means that many others may be subject to this type of fate. I like the cards and I'm happy I have them. I think I just expected a little bit more, and something that looks and feels a bit more like a thoughtful, premium-considered piece. These don't work as hard as I'd expect them to.
A Practical, Thoughtful Tool for Better Team Conversations. These team building cards feel like a genuinely useful resource rather than a gimmicky icebreaker deck. They’re thoughtfully designed to support real conversations, and they fit naturally into meetings, one-on-ones, and team sessions without feeling forced or awkward.
The four-category structure is a standout feature. Starting with light icebreakers and progressing into deeper strategic and reflective questions gives you flexibility depending on the setting and group dynamic. It’s easy to match the tone to the moment instead of relying on one-size-fits-all prompts.
Question quality is excellent. The prompts are open-ended, relevant, and well phrased, encouraging meaningful discussion rather than surface-level answers. They naturally invite stories, reflection, and insight, which makes them especially valuable for managers trying to build trust and understanding.
I appreciate how adaptable these are. They work just as well in casual team check-ins as they do in structured workshops or offsites. You can pull one card for a quick warm-up or build an entire session around a small set of questions.
The physical design feels professional and durable. The cards are thick, easy to shuffle, and clearly labeled, which makes them practical for frequent use. The organization by category keeps everything intuitive and quick to navigate.
What really stands out is how useful they are for ongoing leadership development. They help surface perspectives, uncover concerns, and spark conversations that might not happen naturally in busy work environments. Over time, they become a reliable framework for strengthening communication.
This deck is an excellent addition to any manager’s toolkit. It’s flexible, well crafted, and genuinely effective at improving dialogue and connection. For leaders focused on building trust, improving performance, and creating healthier team dynamics, these cards offer a simple yet powerful way to make conversations more intentional and impactful.
Thoughtful Prompts That Spark Real Connection. The Leader Tools: Team Conversation deck is a fantastic resource for meaningful team building. The warm-up prompts are approachable and easy to jump into, helping everyone feel comfortable participating right from the start.
What really stood out was the progression of the prompts. They naturally build on one another, moving from lighter conversation into deeper reflection and sharing without feeling forced. This structure created space for authentic discussion, stronger connection, and better understanding among team members.
Overall, this deck is well-designed and highly effective for encouraging engagement, trust, and open dialogue. It’s a great tool for teams looking to strengthen relationships and have more intentional, productive conversations.
Seriously fun way of getting to know your team. What a great idea for workplace conversation starters! These cards are great for getting conversations started at the beginning of an otherwise boring meeting. The deck has 160 prompt cards: Icebreakers ("If our team had a signature dish, what would it be?"); Deeper Connections to get to know others better ("What's #1 on your bucket list?"); Work Connections("If your calendar could talk, what would it say about your priorities?"); and Team Talk ("Do we help each other stay accountable tour commitments in a supportive way?"). As a leader, I can choose cards related to the topic, or just draw one randomly for greater spontaneity. While many of the questions seem innocuous, I am surprised at how many challenges (and opportunities) come up in the subsequent discussions.
As with many managers I've worked with, I am often so focused on getting the job done that I miss opportunities to really engage and learn more about my team and the individuals I work with. These cards have been a prompt to me to do more of that and so far, I like the results.
Build your Relationships. Wasn’t sure what to expect with the cards. I like conversation starters for meetings to just break up the monotony.
The cards include 4 different “decks”.
Ice Breaker - Easy questions although some can be more personal and require some vulnerability in a team setting.
Deeper - Similar to above but a little “deeper” like the card reads.
Work - These include some great “get to know you at work” type questions. Some questions might be a little more personal but I think could be beneficial for new teams or to get people more familiar with each other and how they work.
Teams - This is from the perspective of a larger picture. How is the company doing. How is the team as a whole. Things like that.
If you are looking to deepen your team atmosphere, these could be a good way to move in a positive direction and understand how people think and work.
Sturdy cards and container. These card prompts are good for phone calls, Team meetings or Zoom calls, but obviously would not be conducive during person to person conversations. These can be used as a simple game as well, so they are versatile. Honestly, these flash cards, as I call them, may not work well when conversing within large corporate/executive communications. I can see them working very well with blue collar supervisors and their peers. (me) The cards are broken down very nicely with colors that can be seen well from the top of the card deck. They represent 4 different categories for 4 different types of prompts. I keep these on my desk and occasionally use them when needed. The deck is really sturdy; they will stay like that for a long time to come.
